Recast is an AI video tool for remaking a 4–30 second clip with a new cast while keeping the original movement, timing, camera and sound. It is aimed at creators who follow video trends, brands placing mascots or products into familiar formats, musicians and labels remaking performances, and agencies producing variations for different markets.

Paste a TikTok, Instagram Reel, YouTube Short, Facebook or X link, or upload a file, then trim the section and choose up to four people. The cast can include BudgetPixel’s ready-made AI influencers, characters from the user’s library, and product or outfit images. An optional Direction can specify a setting, mood or sound. Recast first produces a 480p draft, with 720p and 1080p options available; the original sound is restored in sync, or users can provide audio or request new sound.

## Features

- **Recast from a link or file**: Paste a TikTok, Reel, Short, Facebook or X link, or upload a clip, then trim 4–30 seconds.
- **Preserve motion and camera**: The rebuilt shot keeps the original movement, timing and camera while replacing the people.
- **Cast up to four people**: Choose free AI influencers, your own characters, or add products and outfits from pictures.
- **Keep or replace the sound**: The source sound returns in sync, or users can add MP3/WAV audio or request new sound.
- **Draft first, then HD**: Start with a 480p draft, choose 720p or 1080p, or make a Seedance 2.5 draft HD later.
- **Pay only when ready**: The price appears before starting, and the site says failed recasts cost nothing.

## FAQ

### What is Recast?

Recast takes a 4–30 second video and remakes it with a new cast while keeping the moves, timing and camera. The clip keeps its own sound.

### Which videos can I recast?

Paste a TikTok, Instagram Reel, YouTube Short, Facebook or X link, or upload a file. A link uses up to the first minute; uploaded files can be up to 100 MB and 60 seconds.

### Who can I put in the video?

Choose BudgetPixel’s free AI influencers, your own characters, or products and outfits added as pictures. Up to four people can be cast.

### Does the recast keep the original sound?

Yes. The clip’s song or voice is put back on the recast in sync. Users can instead add an MP3 or WAV file or request new sound.

### What quality options are available?

Recast offers 480p drafts, 720p and 1080p. A Seedance 2.5 draft can be made HD later, and 1080p is delivered as H.265 (HEVC).

### How much does a recast cost?

It depends on the clip length, model and quality. On the default model, a 10-second recast is 2,990 credits at 480p and 14,625 credits at 1080p. The price appears before starting.

### Can I try Recast for free?

The site says the free plan provides 300 monthly credits, while the shortest recast takes 468 credits, so the free monthly allowance does not cover the shortest recast.

### How long does a recast take?

The site says a recast is ready in about five minutes; early live-site recasts took three to four minutes.
