- **Geometry measurement**: Measure coordinates, distances, edges, diameters, radii, face distances, angles, surface area and volume.
- **Model properties**: Inspect bounding-box dimensions, surface area, volume and mass calculated from a density you enter.
- **Assembly inspection**: Use an assembly tree, per-part visibility, section planes and exploded views to review assemblies.
- **Comparison and export**: Compare supported STEP solids and export properties as CSV or views as PNG.
- **Conversion and sharing**: Convert supported models after sign-in and share fixed model snapshots through 7- or 30-day links.

## FAQ

### Which CAD file formats does CADProps support?

CADProps supports 55+ formats and extensions, including STEP/STP, IGES/IGS, STL, OBJ, 3MF, static GLB/glTF, DWG/DXF and supported native SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA, NX, Parasolid and other CAD files.

### Can files be viewed and measured without an account?

Yes. Viewing and supported measurement do not require an account. Sign-in is required for conversion, saving files across devices and creating share links.

### How are volume and mass calculated?

STEP and IGES properties are calculated from B-Rep geometry. Volume requires a valid closed solid, and mass is calculated from volume multiplied by a material density chosen by the user.

### Are mesh measurements exact?

Mesh dimensions and surface properties come from triangle geometry. Volume and density-based mass are approximate and require a closed, consistent mesh.

### How are uploaded files retained?

Guest files are automatically deleted about one hour after upload. Signed-in files are stored in private My files and automatically deleted after 90 days without use.

### Can shared models be viewed without an account?

Yes. A share link provides a fixed model snapshot, and recipients can view it without an account. Share links can be set for 7 or 30 days and optionally protected with a password.
