Google Search Console is Google's free tool for site owners. It shows which searches your pages appear for, how often they're clicked, and whether Google can crawl and index your site.
You verify that you own the site, submit your sitemap, and then see impressions, clicks, average position and click-through rate per page and per search.
It also reports indexing problems, such as pages Google found but chose not to index.
Why it matters for a launch
It's the only direct view of how Google sees your site, and the first place to look when a new site isn't showing up.
