WiseTube is a small free site I built so kids can watch real learning videos without the open YouTube recommendation spiral. Channels are hand-picked (science, reading, how-things-work stuff), ages are marked, and the player stays on the page instead of dumping them into Shorts. No ads, no signup to browse. It's not trying to replace every kids app — just a calmer shelf when you want "curious" without "algorithm." Made by a dad who got tired of fighting the Up Next countdown.

What WiseTube does

  • Hand-picked learning library: Educational videos are selected by people and organized by topic and age group.
  • Sealed video player: Covers YouTube branding, title links, end screens and pause-screen suggestions, with no links out to YouTube.
  • No autoplay or Shorts: Nothing starts on its own, and the library leaves out Shorts, comments and YouTube suggestions.
  • Parent PIN controls: A four-digit PIN protects profiles, age groups and parent settings.
  • Learner profiles: Parents can add up to six learner profiles, lock profiles and manage which age groups children can open.
  • Personal library controls: Parents can hide films, choose trusted channels, add videos by YouTube link and move the library to another device.

Who it's for

Parents and caregivers looking for a calmer educational video library for children ages 4 and up, including families using supplementary or homeschool learning.

Why people use WiseTube

General-purpose video feeds can lead children to autoplay, recommendations, comments, Shorts and content parents did not choose.

WiseTube provides hand-picked educational videos in age-based libraries and a sealed player, while giving parents controls over profiles, age access, films and channels.

The site combines a curated educational library with a player designed to keep children inside WiseTube rather than sending them into YouTube's recommendation feed.
