Product Hunt is the largest launch platform: a daily leaderboard where new products are posted and ranked by upvotes, resetting every day at midnight Pacific time.
A good day there can bring thousands of visitors and press attention. A launch that does not reach the top of the day's list gets very little, and most of what decides that is how many supporters you bring in the first hours.
For that reason many makers launch on smaller platforms first, to collect feedback and fix what is confusing, and save Product Hunt for when they have an audience.
Why it matters for a launch
It is worth doing once, and worth doing prepared. It is not the only place to launch, and for a product with no following it is rarely the best first one.
